The Wiper Democratic Party has called on Johnson muthama to choose his side. Speaking at the wiper Headquarters, the party officials led by the Party Deputy leader Farah Maalim and the party chairman Chirau Ali Makwere condemned Johnson Muthama for going off track and against party laws

Johnson Muthama has been on the receiving end since he publicly declared his support for Deputy President William Ruto for the 2022 presidential election, a position not supported by the party and its leader Kalonzo Musyoka who signed a coalition agreement with the ruling Jubilee Party.

The party’s chairman Makwere said that Muthama who is the former Machakos Senator had been issued with a show cause letter to explain why he should not face disciplinary action for violating the party’s constitution. “Johnson muthama has been going round making statements on behalf of the Party. This is unacceptable, and we have issued him with a show cause letter where he has 14days to reply.” Said Makwere.

The Wiper party has warned other party members that they risk being expelled from the party should they fail to follow the law. “Same fate will follow on party leaders going against the party” said Farah

This comes a few days after Wiper Democratic Movement led by Kalonzo Musyoka signed a cooperation agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party. The deal signed at the Jubilee Party headquarters in Nairobi is a post-election agreement that will see the three parties work together ahead of the 2022 General Election.

Wiper’s deputy leader Farah Maalim denounced any association with the deputy president William ruto asking muthama to choose his side that is either working with the DP Ruto or standing with the party. “We are not working with the Deputy President. And if a member any member is interested can work with the DP.” Said Farah.
