Donation of Electric sanitization booth, sanitizers and Masks in the Governor’s Office, Nakuru
On Tuesday May 28, 2020, Friends Women Contractors donated Electric sanitization booth, sanitizers and Masks to the Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui in support of efforts to fight the spread of the Corona virus. The sanitization booth is expected to benefit thousands of Nakuru residents.
Speaking during presentation of the sanitization items, Mrs. Makena Chweya who is one of the directors of Friends women Contractors said they came together in this initiative to pull up resources to help in the fight of Covid-19 among other things that they have been doing.
Alice Njoroge who is one of the directors in the organization urged other local investors to join hands in the fight against the covid-19.
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui appreciated the move and acknowledged the efforts by the group saying this is a selfless act and called on all Kenyans to play a role in the fight.
Nakuru is one of the counties in the country to have very few cases of the corona virus infections. The spraying booth was set up at the Afraha Market in Nakuru town.
Kenya, which reported its first case of Covid-19 in March 13 2020, now has 1,471 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as the battle of the COVID-19 pandemic with cases steadily rising each day.
Kenya is the fourth most impacted country in the East / Horn of Africa region only behind Djibouti, Sudan and Somalia.
